The full review has tasting notes & what we paired it with. It went well with a dip in the pool on the second day :)

Around the web:

Great, affordable wine. surprisingly smooth. best after breathing

Dark fruit begining with a strong ending. Full, just enough bitterness. Great with our steak.

The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon nails it, admits winemaker Joe Kidd. It embodies everythingthat we’re striving for with the Sterling Vintner’s Collection. Not only does it show greatvarietal expression with a depth of rich cherry, dark fruit and vanilla toast – but it is full, fleshy and fun to drink – a classic Cabernet to be enjoyed with all occasions. Pair with rich foods such as roast lamb, steak au poivre, or potatoes au gratin. from Wine.com

Columbia Crest Cabernet Sauvignon Grand Estates 2006 Wine of The Month

Wine of The Month

Columbia Crest Wines suggested by Jennifer (thanks).

We tasted this one about 6 days ago & we really like this Cabernet Sauvignon – It’s taste exceeds it’s price by far. Value priced at $9.99 review to follow.

“Best Buys: Red, Outstanding!” -Wine Press
“Red Wine Steal of the Year” -Western Wine Awards.

Vintners Tasting Notes

“Intense cherry, cassis and slight spice aromas lead to fruit-forward flavors of chocolate berry on the palate. This supple wine trails into a long finish that offers silky tannins and a slightly spiced cocoa finish.”
- Ray Einberger, Winemaker

Grape blend:
80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, & 4% Syrah

Wine Spectator 89pts

- According to the Wine Spectator: Supple and inviting. A softer style of Cabernet that weaves milk chocolate and spice flavors through the dark berry and currant flavors, mingling effectively on the finish. Drink now through 2012.

Featured in the May 31st Issue of Wine Spectator as a Best Value at $11 drink now through 2012 200,000 case made

Available at you local grocery store (Publix in Fl) and Total Wine

Redwood Creek Cabernet Sauvignon 2006 Review

I really wanted to like this wine.

The label was sort of classy looking. Sitting on the dinner table the bottle looked promising and I had gotten a great deal on it. $4.50 per bottle on a half price clearance from a local market where it was supposedly $9.99 retail.

Woops!
