Monkey Bay Marlborough Region Sauvignon Blanc 2007 Pairing
New Zealand’s Monkey Bay Marlborough Region Sauvignon Blanc 2007 – Paired with Coconut Shrimp – Rice Pilaf and Thai Salad
Can’t wait to cook this in my new tricked out electric wok skillet thingy.
I will be making Coconut Shrimp breaded in Panko (Japanese bread crumbs) with a Horseradish/Apricot/Pineapple dipping sauce I like better than Outbacks
Toasted Pecan Rice Pilaf & Thai Mango Salad on the side.
The top rated New Zealand’s Monkey Bay Marlborough Region Sauvignon Blanc 2007 will pair with this (under$10 available locally). Review to follow.

The Seven Deadly Zins Old Vine Zinfandel
Right now enjoying a bottle of The Seven Deadly Zins.
An Old Vine Zinfandel from the Seven Best Growers in the Lodi appellation of California. Very drinkable!
Really opens up in the glass over an hour or so.
Almost hyperventilated sniffing the developing nuance with this one lol
Good stuff! Soon to be reviewed in an Old Vine Zinfandel video shoot out. Gnarly Head vs Seven Deadly Zins vs Bogle. That will be a good day!
This one is pretty smooth, I prefer a bolder Zinfandel like Gnarly Head but…
if you are a bit shy of a bold Zinfandel try this.
Review from Playboy.com
A sip first reveals a somewhat spicy cinnamon taste, then ripe berries and plum. A long finish, and some tannins caress the tongue and throat.
And, like a phenomenal dessert, you’ll feel your taste buds wanting more as soon as the last rush of flavor has vanished.
Beware the high alcohol content (14.9 percent): This stuff is sinfully potent, too.

Organic Wine and Earth Day
Wine and Earth Day Equals a Great Deal for You!
Earth Day is April 22nd Celebrate with green wine! Nah, the wine isn’t the color green. But it is good for the Earth. Shop a selection of wines made from organically grown grapes from vineyards dedicated to sustainable farming or any of the wines at our number one choice for online shopping.
Great wines, better than local prices and 1 cent shipping through April 24th makes for one great deal saving you some Green!
We have been sent a selection of three organic wines to review for you. This will be a video review posted in a couple of weeks. The name of the vineyard is a suprise!
Also on the table is a wine shoot out of three top locally available “themed wines” in the Frugal Category that are selling like hotcakes. The winner will get special recognition. The two losers will face The Wine Assassin!
BTW the Wine Assassin has a new bat. A 33in fat sweet spot Louisville Slugger made of Hickory. THAT should create quite the vino destructo for the unworthy.
Whats earth Day you say? Read more about it here Earth Day
Earth Day is the only event celebrated simultaneously around the globe by people of all backgrounds, faiths and nationalities. More than a half billion people participate in Earth Day Network campaigns every year. Source Wikipedia
Why not celebrate yours with a nice bottle of Vino.

Columbia Crest Cabernet Sauvignon Grand Estates 2006 Wine of The Month
Wine of The Month
Columbia Crest Wines suggested by Jennifer (thanks).
We tasted this one about 6 days ago & we really like this Cabernet Sauvignon – It’s taste exceeds it’s price by far. Value priced at $9.99 review to follow.
“Best Buys: Red, Outstanding!” -Wine Press
“Red Wine Steal of the Year” -Western Wine Awards.
Vintners Tasting Notes
“Intense cherry, cassis and slight spice aromas lead to fruit-forward flavors of chocolate berry on the palate. This supple wine trails into a long finish that offers silky tannins and a slightly spiced cocoa finish.”
- Ray Einberger, Winemaker
Grape blend:
80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, & 4% Syrah
Wine Spectator 89pts
- According to the Wine Spectator: Supple and inviting. A softer style of Cabernet that weaves milk chocolate and spice flavors through the dark berry and currant flavors, mingling effectively on the finish. Drink now through 2012.
Featured in the May 31st Issue of Wine Spectator as a Best Value at $11 drink now through 2012 200,000 case made
Available at you local grocery store (Publix in Fl) and Total Wine
